Point Cook

The Bulldogs’ juniors had competed for several years in the Western Region Football League but when the seniors were established late in 2009 it was decided to approach the Victorian Amateur Football Association with a request to affiliate. This request was accepted, and in 2010 Point Cook’s seniors began competing in the VAFA’s Division Four. Their best season to date was 2016 when they qualified for the grand final but lost to Westbourne Grammarians by 17 points. Promoted to Division Three as a consequence they did well to consolidate in 2017, winning 7 of their 18 home and away matches to finish in eighth place on the ten team premiership ladder. The 2018 season saw the Bulldogs venturing to pastures new when they joined their juniors by lining up in Division Two of the Western Region Football League where they enjoyed a sparkling debut. After qualifying for the finals in second place they suffered the setback of a second semi final reversal at the hands of minor premiers Yarraville Seddon before recovering to account for Parkside in the following week's preliminary final. This set up a re-match with the Eagles in the decisive match of the year and Point Cook led for most of the match before progressing to a hard fought 7 point triumph, 9.14 (68) to 8.13 (61).
